Creating a character on Soulbound is easy if you know what you want and totally doable when you have a bit of time to read up on some of the lore and have some imagination.
The steps for when you are versed in the lore of the Elder Races series, are as follows:1. Think of a character you'd like to play.
2. Read up on the
general rules, the
world information topic and the
factions of Soulbound thread for any possible changes for this particular game. Check the
character sheet template and use it to write up a summary of your character. Name, race, gender, background and other parts are required, a face claim is optional. For which face is already claimed, check the
Face Claim thread.
3. Fill out the character sheet. For a very simple example, feel free to look at the
example character sheet4. If you're impatient, let the admins know that your character awaits approval. We are quite speedy but we don't mind being notified, just in case!
5. If the admin reviewing your character is happy with your sheet, you will be assigned a character type/race badge and group and you're ready for RP!
6. As an optional step from any time during the character creation process, you can always post a character idea thread to pick up ideas, co-conspirators, possible connections IC and OOC and other fun stuff. Feel free to use the chat and the
Plots, Wanted&Desired forum.
The steps for when you're not much of an Elder Races buff but still want to RP in the world they inhabit:1. Read the
information topics. They might give you ideas and they will most definitely give you more knowledge about the theme and setting of this game. If you have any questions about the theme, feel free to ask in the chat or PM Nia.
2. Think of a character you would like to play in the world of the Elder Races. We suggest you start with a previously rather isolated human character that can then learn more about the Elder Races by interacting with them in the world in which Soulbound takes place in. It is still entirely possible to create a character from one of the Elder Races if you so decide and desire, of course. You can also look at the
example character sheet for an idea of what we are looking for in a character sheet.
3. Read up on the
general rules and look at the
character sheet template. Use it to create a character sheet. If you want, check the
Face Claim thread to see what faces are claimed, and claim one for your own character. The default image size of the avatar is 160x260. Please make sure the avatar is PG as this will be viewed by not only the members of this forum but also guests.
4. Wait until an admin reviews your character. If they have any questions, they will say so in the character sheet thread while sending you a Private Message with said questions. Please do not be worried or disheartened by this, it usually means we need to clarify something or inform you of something. We want your character to be ready and done as much as you do!
5. When the review is done, the admin will make a post about it in the character sheet thread and set your new character up with a Character type/race badge and add you to a group. Then, you're ready to dive in!
6. You can always goto the
Plots, Wanted&Desired forum and reply or create your own thread to make connections(IC and OOC), plot with people, start up new plots and so on. When in doubt, you can always contact the admins for more assistance.
